๐YEAR 7 2025 ORIENTATION DAY ๐ Today, we welcomed over a hundred Year 6 students who will attend Emmaus next year, and what a fantastic day they had! Recently, a group of students accompanied by Miss Ross and Mr Squires volunteered with the St Vincent de Paul Society to provide Western Sydneyโs disadvantaged with necessities. Our Vinnies NSW crew spent time at Mt Druitt and Parramatta, making and supplying food and water to disadvantaged individuals and families, while also spending quality time with them. Thank you St Vincent de Paul Society for giving our students the opportunity to volunteer with your organisation! ๐๐

What fantastic students we have at Emmaus! ๐ This morning, our Year 12 student leadership team ran their first assembly! They did a great job, specifically Amelia K (Academics Leader) and Tegan U (Sports Leader), who awarded a number of students with both academic and sporting awards and Max M (Social Justice Leader) who launched our Vinnies Christmas Appeal. ๐ A special shoutout to our music students who played musical items this morning. ๐ค๐ธ Have a look at the photos from this morningโs assembly. ๐

Last week, Year 12 Visual Arts partook in an intensive workshop, called โBody of Work in a Day.โ Developed by Johnny Romeo, the workshop brings the internationally acclaimed artistโs practice from the studio to the classroom. ๐จ The day drew from Romeoโs extensive experience of over twenty years in visual arts, both as an artist and a teacher, to empower and build confidence in essential skills, such as idea development, collaboration and studio practice. โญ๏ธ Thank you Johnny Romeo for sharing your expertise with our Year 12 Visual Arts students! ๐

We would like to thank the St Maryโs RSL Sub-Branch for having us at their Remembrance Day Ceremony, where we joined as a community to reflect upon the ending of World War I and the sacrifice endured by service personnel. ๐ After the ceremony, our students spoke with Mrs Tanya Davies MP, Mrs Prue Car MP, and Councillor Libby Austin, who is an Emmaus alumnus! At the going down of the sun, and in the morning. We will remember them. Lest we forget.
