📱SOCIAL MEDIA BAN ❌ From 10 December 2025, age-restricted social media platforms will have to take reasonable steps to prevent Australians under the age of 16 from creating or keeping an account. This important change reflects growing community concern about the impact of early social media use on children's mental health, wellbeing and development. These new regulations provide an opportunity to talk openly with your child about their online experiences and what these changes mean for them. It's also a chance to review family technology habits, reinforce healthy routines, and explore age-appropriate ways for young people to connect, learn and express themselves. Angelina eyes a career in politics
The Weekender recently had the pleasure of speaking to a future Penrith Councillor - Year 12 student at Emmaus Catholic College, Angelina Dicenso. Angelina is one of 23 students in the state chosen to attend the NSW Schools Constitutional Convention in Canberra in 2026.

🌟 STUDENT SPOTLIGHT 🌟 We are excited to share that Year 11 student, Angelina D, has been successful in her application to attend the National Schools Constitutional Convention! 🤩 Angelina will travel to Canberra in March to debate the Constitution, explore how the government works, and share ideas about democracy. She is one of twenty-three students in NSW who will participate in the program. 🙌 Angelina has a passion for social justice, advocating for Western Sydney youth and people with disabilities both within our school community and through the NSW Youth Parliament program.
