Today, five student representatives accompanied by Mr Murphy and Miss Gordon attended the St Marys RSL Sub-Branch Remembrance Day Ceremony. 🌹 It was a touching service that highlighted the sacrifice made by the men and women who fought in wars and global conflicts. We would like to extend our gratitude to the St Marys RSL Sub-Branch for hosting the service, and reminding us of the contribution service personnel made to our peace and safety. Lest we forget. ❤️

🌹REMEMBRANCE DAY 🌹 Today marks Remembrance Day, where we reflect on the courage, sacrifice and comradeship of the men and women who have served our country in wars and armed conflicts globally. 🌏 As a community we will observe a one minute silence during our commemorative ceremony. As part of our partnership with St Marys RSL Sub-Branch, five students will attend today’s service at the RSL to lay a wreath on behalf of the Emmaus community. Notably, 2025 signifies the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the defeat of Nazi Germany - a significant event in world history. May the contribution of service personnel to our peace and safety never be forgotten. Lest We Forget. 🌹

If you’ve received an enrolment offer, ensure you finalise your enrolment to secure your place at these important events - only families who have accepted their enrolment offer can attend these events, which allow families to explore what’s ahead, meet our amazing staff, and get the information you need for a smooth transition to high school. Last week, three Year 10 students attended the St Marys RSL Sub-Branch Colin Shepherd OAM Memorial Scholarship Presentation Night, along with Mrs Osterlund, Mrs Nevin, Miss Mukhopadhyay and Mr Murphy. On the night, Noah K, Justine T and Elisha S were awarded scholarships. These students underwent a rigorous selection process where they submitted a project that was assessed against strict criteria. Each student created a fantastic project that explored their personal connection to Australia’s rich military history. 🇦🇺🎖️ Congratulations to: 🥇Noah K (first place) 🥈Justine T (second place) 🥉Elisha S (third place) These scholarships will support these students as they continue their senior studies at Emmaus. 📚SCIENCE AT EMMAUS: FROG DISSECTION PRACTICAL 🧪 Year 8 has been busy in Miss Prasad’s Science class, learning about the human body. To begin the unit, students engaged in a practical experiment where they dissected a frog to learn about the inner-workings of the digestive system. 🧑‍🔬 This practical gave Year 8 students the opportunity to physically identify features of the frog, and its digestive system, while enhancing their ability to use dissection tools safely and effectively. ⭐ LANGUAGES AT EMMAUS 🏮 Xuan paper - a traditional Chinese paper with over a thousand years of history - is often seen as a key to understanding Chinese culture and art. Recently, our Year 8 students explored this ancient and timeless treasure by painting with water colour on Xuan paper from China. 🎨 Guided by Ms Li, students learned about Xuan paper, and experimented with watermark painting - a traditional technique where the colours flow and blend across the paper’s soft fibres. The result was a series of stunning artworks, each one representing a fusion of culture and learning. 🥰 It was an engaging lesson that combined language, culture, and creativity, giving Year 8 students a deeper appreciation of Chinese culture and artistry. ✨ #EmmausCatholicCollege #LearningatEmmaus #LanguageLearning #FromtheClassroom

As we prepare to welcome back our students for Term 4 tomorrow, we remind our community of the following student expectations. 🏫 Students must: 👔 wear their full College summer uniform, 💇 adhere to College uniform and grooming expectations, 🏃 only wear sports uniform on prac days and Thursdays, 📱 switch mobile phones off and store them in your school bag from 8:35am to 2:55pm 🪪 bring Student ID and Opal cards to school, everyday, and 💻 ensure your device is working and is fully charged.
